Mini Review

Ever wondered what you would get if you combined a game show with mass murder? Well, it’s Smash TV! I seem to remember this game being ground breaking at the time. It was just the concept of placing video game characters in a TV show and allowing them to butcher gangs of people with baseball bats for the chance to with cold hard cash, TVs, toasters etc. In terms of plot that’s it really.

You have a gun but can pick up nifty extras such as grenades and orbiting shields. You then fight for your life against waves and waves of very angry people. The control system is well thought out in that you can shoot in directions other than the one that you’re facing. You will find yourself spraying bullets everywhere (which is good as there seem to be people that want to kill you everywhere). There is the occasional boss fight thrown in for good measure but the real fun in this game is just the general chaos and carnage. Play in Player 2 and have yourself a Smash TV riot.
