Short gameplay demonstration. The game focusses on building the Roman Empire through invasion, taxation, gladiator matches and chariot races. Overall it's a fairly comprehensive strategy game.

5 minutes of nostalgic game play. Just setting up a basic profitable city for fun. Sim City is still a great game even after all these years. It doesn't have too many features and there's no real goal but in a way that doesn't really matter, it really is the taking part for fun that counts. A great game for those that reember having to fish out the fluff and gunge from the ball of your mouse each hour, those were the days...

Opening sequence and first level.

Played just for fun. This games makes it in to my list of favourite games of all time, at the time it looked and felt so different to other games it was the closest to playing a movie. So much care has gone in to the animation and despite the use of any speech (other than simple grunts) it's easy to follow and get involved in this gripping rescue attempt/escape story. The concept is great and the execution is outstanding. Delphine did sucha great job here it was no wonder their next outing "Flashback" became such a hit. The same can't quite be said about the third installment of "Fade to Black", the processing power of polygons hadn't quite got up to standard. However, "Another World" is a game that has stood the test of time and i'm still playing this one two decades later.

Opening introduction sequence.

As an addition to the normal Nights game Sega released a Christmas Special Edition. This one is from my personal collection and I really enjoy the game concept. Nights was also one of the first games credited with using analogue controls and was even supplied with its own pad. Merry Christmas everyone!.

Sega Saturn: Virtual On

First 3 levels.

This game sums up Japan for me. There's huge robots fighting each other in a one on one fight. Plenty of high powered wepons and action in this one. The game takes place in various arenas with different cover to hide behind. Each opponent has a different balance of speed, power and agility. It's an excellent idea for a game and great that it made it's way from the Japanese arcades and as far as here in the UK on the Sega Saturn. Great game.

Sega Saturn Video Lounge: Discworld

Sega Saturn: Discworld

Opening introduction sequence.

Another of my favourite games on the Sega Saturn. Discworld is based partially on the Guards! Guards! novel. In a very similar vain as Simon the Sorcerer this point and click adventure is both humerous and interesting to play. I'd never read a Pratchett novel before I played this game for the first time, I've gone on to be a huge fan of the series. The game retains Pratchett's with and all the fun of a Monkey Island title.

Sega Saturn Video Lounge: Panzer Dragoon Saga. Opening Introduction

Sega Saturn: Panzer Dragoon Saga. Opening Introduction

http://www.Insert-Disk.com proudly presents "Panzer Dragoon Saga. Opening Introduction" for the Sega Saturn.
Opening introduction sequence.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is a game that I will remember most fondly. This movie is taken from an original UK disc 1. This was a game that changed the 32-bit console market forever. Although the Sega Saturn was just about dead in the UK by this time, this one last effort justified why Sega was know for such incredible innovation. This was a game that came on 4 CDs, had full motion video, an epic story line, an invented language, innovative and varied game play. This was the game of the generation.

I'm lucky enough to have this set in my Saturn collection and smile every time I see it sitting on my shelf. This is the way that games should be made. You really get the impression that this was one serious effort on behalf of Sega to go down fighting. There were good efforts shortly after such as Shenmue for the Dreamcast. However, in terms of 32-bit games there are few that can come close to the quality and scale of Panzer Dragoon Saga.

England Vs Netherlands.

One of the first games I ever played on the Saturn. Compared to Actua Soccer this game was light years ahead in terms of enjoyable game play. I hadn't played this one for many years, as you can tell though one you work out the keepers weak spot scoring isn't too difficult.

Sega Saturn Video Lounge: Daytona USA CCE

Sega Saturn: Daytona USA CCE

http://www.Insert-Disk.com proudly presents "Daytona USA CCE" for the Sega Saturn.
Race1.

The second outing of the Daytona USA series on the Sega Saturn. The Championship Circuit Edition adds new tracks, more cars and generally more options. It's easy to look back now and say that the polygon count was low, the graphics were a bit glitchy, the AI of the other cars is not so good. Overall though this is still a game that you can pick up and still be challenged by. Although the arcade edition will always be superior this is still a game worth picking up, especially if you have the Sega Saturn wheel accessory.

Sega Mega Drive Video Lounge: Turbo Outrun

Sega Mega Drive: Turbo Outrun

http://www.Insert-Disk.com proudly presents "Turbo Outrun" for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.

Opening title sequence and a complete stage 1.

Classic Sega racing today. Turbo Outrun is a game that I remember very well from my childhood. Adapted from the arcade version you must race your way across the USA reaching check points at various key cities. This time though you have the added challenge of police to avoid and also a Turbo button that you can utilise. The game starts off fairly easy but gets very tricky. There's lots of blind hills and tight corners, so using the Turbo is both simultaneously useful and dangerous. Between legs of the race you have the option of upgrading your car, I find that I need the high performance tyres before anything else otherwise i'm off the road in seconds with the powerful engine upgrade. This is a classic game and still plays well even today. Well done Sega, this is a graet retro game and it's no wonder it is a yard stick for the driving genre.
