Mini Review

Truxton: My oh my is this a game that’s going to eat your time. Think Xenon II but with insane amounts of speed and weapon upgrades. The premise is simple, fly your ship in this vertical scroller and shoot the living daylight out of anything that moves. As always there’s weapon upgrades galore. On a personal note my favorite is still the blue auto lock on lasers, wow, just wow! Then again the green plasma weapon that fills half the screen is not without its charms.

The music just fits the game like a glove, it’s fast, frantic and completely out of control and possibly even adds to the experience. The weapon upgrades go up and up, the hoards of enemies get more plentiful, the speed of your ship gets faster and faster. Eventually you’re going to have to deploy the Truxton bomb, a smart bomb that wipes out everything on screen. This is an absolute gem from the ‘90s and will have you enslaved to its fast paced action. I highly recommend anyone with a photosensitive epileptic condition to run as fast as you can, this game is your Kryptonite. For everyone else, give this one a try!
